Salma Hayek was born on September 2, 1966, in the oil boomtown of Coatzacoalcos, Mexico. When she was only 5 she decided to became an acress. First, she acted in Mexican soap series, but later she moved to Los Angeles because she wanted to be a Hollywood star, despite limited fluency in English. Slowly, she made her name famous acting in movies like From Dusk Till Dawn, Fools Rush In, Breaking Up, Wild Wild West… Her biggest movie was Frida, which was nominated for six Oscars, including best actress for Hayek, who became the first Latin actress to be nominated in the category.
